Which Keyboard Colour is Best?
How do you feel about the colour of your keyboard? Do you think it makes any difference to the ease and speed with which you can type? Well, colour might not make much difference when it comes to typing speed, but it certainly influences how comfortable you are while typing! So whether you’re thinking of buying a new keyboard or replacing an old one, here’s what you need to know about the keyboard colours that are available and how they can help your work and lifestyle.
The idea Came From a long Working day
After a few hours of work, I noticed that some of my fingers started to hurt a bit, which motivated me to look into solutions that would make typing more comfortable. Thus, my research began. With so many manufacturers and keyboards out there, choosing one can be quite daunting. To help you find your way through it all and answer my question – which keyboard colour is best – I’ve put together a list of four different kinds.
I used Different Colours of Keyboards
Blue, Black, Red. I found that red was best for productivity. The combination of red and black keys helps me to feel relaxed which makes me focus more when writing code. Blue is also good as it gives a feeling of relaxing but can also enhance concentration. I didn’t really like using black keyboards because they are hard on your eyes especially after working for long hours. But if you work in an environment with dim light then you might need a keyboard colour that will illuminate your space and make it easier to see than a darker keyboard colour. This has worked very well for me and my friends who were used to another keyboard colour until I changed their keyboards to blue, they started liking it much better! This might not be true for everyone though!
I still couldn’t Decide Which Colour Was Better
blue or red. Some people might say that blue is better because it gives a fresh, modern look to a normally boring keyboard. But I liked red—it felt fun and classy at the same time. After days of consideration, I found myself thinking about keyboards whenever I wasn’t at work. If anyone happened to be around me while I was typing, they might have thought I was working on an important message or report when really all I could think about was which colour worked best with my decor (black). Eventually, after bouncing back and forth between colours (blue vs. red), lights-out finally came and morning soon followed. As sunlight peeked through my window, my mind became clear; blue was definitely my favourite colour!
And then I Decided to do an Experiment
The higher-pitched keys may be easier to see in a dimly lit room, but people don’t react as quickly to them, so you end up wasting time hitting those keys. If you’re prone to typos, stick with a keyboard color that contrasts well with your background. That way you can more easily tell if there are mistakes on your screen. Keys that are hard to see just slow you down and increase how often mistakes happen. While things like backlighting and auto-correct help today’s keyboards be less of a typing burden than ever before, there’s no reason not to take advantage of all these new features by using a keyboard that doesn’t distract you.
The Experiment I Performed
We have come to a conclusion after our tests and all of our opinions vary when we look at what colour keyboard is best for typing. What we all seem to agree on though, is that pink keyboards are not good and as expected blue seems to be everyone’s favourite colour. This was proven with some people saying that blue should become an official keyboard colour and it would boost productivity throughout offices worldwide. Our personal opinion from running these tests though, was that black was definitely not a good choice for a keyboard colour because it caused glare which resulted in very poor results. We did however find out some interesting things about each individual keyboard colours which we will break down below
